With the first A Simple Favor trailer here, the big question of the day: What happened to Emily? This is a Gone Girl meets The Girl on the Train thriller starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick and Anna wants to know what happened to her best friend!
This movie is based on Darcey Bell's debut novel of the same name. For this teaser trailer, we don't see a whole lot of action. Instead, we get glimpses of what happens and how Emily seems to have disappeared.
Anna Kendrick plays mommy blogger Stephanie Ward, who happens to be best friends with Blake Lively's character Emily Nelson, a willowy housewife that loves her tailored suits and martinis. However, Emily mysteriously disappears and Stephanie starts to question how well she knew her best friend. Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) stars as Emily's husband.
A Simple Favor ends with "What Happened to Emily?" showing on the screen, as we see police sirens and Stephanie's confused face on the screen. There are lots of screenshots and hints in the trailer, but not much of the action. This one has me intrigued and since I love Anna and Blake, I think I will be going to see this one!
In a big change, Ghostbusters and Bridesmaids director Paul Feig is directing A Simple Favor. He is known for his comedy movies, but he is switching it up with this thriller. That intrigues me even more, as I would love to see his take on things.
