Candace M. Smith Proving That Early Elimination On 'America's Next Top Model' Wrong

By: Tyler Jackson

Imagine trying out for a show eight times and finally getting on that show, but then being one of the first few contestants to be eliminated! That is what happened to Candace M. Smith and her time on America's Next Top Model. It may seem like a sad story, but Candace also wasn't going to let this experience define who she was in the modeling world!

You see, Candace was the fourth model eliminated during Cycle 18 of ANTM: British Invasion. It may have not been what she was hoping for, but she has gone on to star in not only modeling campaigns but also star in television and movie. Now that is something to write home about!

One of the big highlights of Candace's career since the show has to be signing with State Models. Candace said, "Career-wise it changed once I started getting bookings through State Models and MMG." For those bookings, it happened to be doing campaigns with MAC Cosmetics, L'Oréal, Milk Makeup and BUXOM Cosmetics. She said, "Lots of print work with Essence Magazine." It appears that is just a few of the bookings she has done and "the list goes on."

She has also made her way to the big and small screen, as she has appeared in roles in Power on STARZ, The Breaks on VH1 and She's Gotta Have It on Netflix. This in addition to roles in the 2018 movies Second Act and Vox Lux, as well as the 2019 movie Motherless Brooklyn.

It appears we might be seeing more of Candace on the big screen, as Candace M. Smith said she's "been auditioning for feature films" and has even "received a few callbacks." She said that "things are looking pretty well so far." It seems like the sky is the limit for Candace, as she added, "The ways my career has picked up, you never know what's in store."

That's for sure and we can only hope her the best of luck as her journey continues. And to follow on that journey, you can visit her website or following her on Instagram and Twitter and use #candacesmith or #candacemsmith!
