This one will be interesting to watch, as Oscar-winner Charlize Theron has signed on to play Megyn Kelly in a new movie about the former FOX News chairman Roger Ailes. There has been major drama when it comes to Kelly and her time at FOX News, so it will be interesting to see how this movie plays out.
Ailes was a one-time political consultant who helped Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush get elected president. He went on to change the way cable news was done, as he took over running FOX News in 1996. The channel became a force in the news market, as some popular stars rose from the ranks.
One of those stars happened to be Megyn Kelly, a former lawyer the later would have her own show on the news channel. As far as Ailes goes, his time with FOX News came to an end in 2016, as he was forced to resign amid sexual harassment allegations from multiple women with the channel, including Megyn Kelly. She would eventually leave FOX and signed a huge contract to join NBC, as she now has her own morning talk show with them. Ailes passed away in 2017 at the age of 77.
Now the story will be turned into a movie from Annapurna, as Jay Roach will serve as director. Charlize Theron is the first major star to sign on to the movie and will be taking on the role of Kelly. The script was written by Charles Randolh, who won the Oscar for co-writing the financial meltdown movie The Big Short.
It will be interesting to see who takes on the other roles in the movie, as ScreenRant reported that Ailes, former FOX News hosts Bill O'Reilly and Gretchen Carlson and media mogul Rupert Murdoch will all be prominent characters in the movie.
