We all fell in love with the concept of Jared Leto as Joker during the promotions for Suicide Squad. However, many of us were left with wanting more, as Leto only briefly appeared in the movie. He seems to make the perfect actor to play Batman's archenemy, so that is why Jared Leto will be starring in a standalone Joker movie!
Entertainment Weekly reported that a solo Joker movie will be made and set within the DC Extended Universe. Not only will Leto star in the new Joker movie, but he will also serve as executive produce on the yet-untitled Warner Bros. project. The movie is still in the very early stages, so no writer or director are attached to the film yet.
Of course, Suicide Squad did not get the best reviews, but it still performed well at the box office. It grossed $746.8 million at the worldwide box office, which are very big numbers. Because of that, Warner Bros. also has a sequel to Suicide Squad planned, as well as a spin-off movie featuring Harley Quinn (played by Margot Robbie), who was a fan favorite from Suicide Squad.
Since this is early in the project, not many other details are currently available. We will update when more information is released.Share:
