Melissa McCarthy is ready to hit the theaters again, as he latest movie Life of the Party debuted it's first trailer. McCarthy will try to be the "cool mom" in all her physical comedy glory. I mean, how can you go wrong with Melissa McCarthy doing what she does best in Life of the Party?
Life of the Party is directed by McCarthy's husband Ben Falcone. After watching the trailer below, you can get some old school vibes from this movie. It is similar to the 1986 Rodney Dangerfield classic Back to School.
In Life of the Party, McCarthy plays Deanna, who is a recently dumped housewife. This comes after her and her husband finally have the house to themselves, as their daughter went away to college. After the emotional stage of the divorce, Deanna is ready to take a new lease on life, as she decides to go back to college. That college just so happens to be the same college her daughter goes to. Deanna is a single woman and back in college, so she does it up right. She enjoys the parties, the freedom and the frat boys.
Life of the Party also stars Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root, Jacki Weaver, Jessie Ennis, Adria Arjona, Debby Ryan and Jimmy O. Yang.
Like their other movies, Melissa and Ben co-wrote the screenplay and it was produced by their production company, On the Day. Life of the Party is also produced by Chris Henchy, with Toby Emmerich, Richard Brener, Michael Disco and David Siegel serving as executive producers.
