The powerful Emmy™-nominated Netflix documentary Brave Miss World will be available to audiences worldwide with the Digital HD and On Demand release  on December 8th, and the DVD and Blu-ray to follow January 29th. Following a limited theatrical run, with a film expansion as a Netflix Exclusive, FilmBuff is now set to distribute the title in thirteen languages on all major digital platforms worldwide – iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, GooglePlay, Xbox, Vudu and Vimeo on Demand. From documentary filmmaker Cecilia Peck (Shut Up & Sing, A Conversation with Gregory Peck), Brave Miss World is the riveting story of Former Miss World Linor Abargil, who at the age of 18, survived a violent stabbing and rape just before winning the Miss World crown. The compelling film follows her fight to convict her attacker, and her journey from teenage victim to empowered survivor, lawyer and advocate for others whose lives have been impacted by sexual violence. Linor speaks out about rape from the townships of South Africa to Universities in the U.S., where the lack of justice available to survivors of rape is among the most critical issues of our times. The documentary explores the trauma and stigma of sexual assault, through one young woman’s refusal to stay silent.

This five year labor of love for Peck, along with producer/editor Inbal Lessner (I have Never Forgotten You: The Life and Legacy of Simon Wiesenthal) was nominated for a primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Merit in Documentary Filmmaking, premiered at AFI Docs, has won numerous festival awards and has screened in over 300 film festivals, community screenings and currently on college campuses around the world. The film’s website www.bravemissworld.com now serves over two million survivors and their families.

The Brave Miss World DVD and Blu-ray will feature 60 minutes of brand new never-released content, including behind-the-scenes with Linor, expanded interviews and powerful survivor testimonials.  Pre-orders for the DVD and Blu-ray are available for $15.00 and $20.00 on www.BraveMissWorld.com.  A “Fan Package” will also include a collector’s signed postcard and a beautiful 100% cotton Brave Miss World #IAmBrave T-shirt.
