"A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi"
Director: J.J. Abrams
Writer: J.J. Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan,
The first official glimpse of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is finally here. The galaxy that was far, far away, is now only a year away, with its release due on 18 December 2015.
While returning cast-members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are absent from the 88-second montage, we do get a first look at a few of the younger cast-members.
Set 30-years after Return of the Jedi, the teaser opens with British actor John Boyega racing across the desert in full Stormtrooper regalia minus the helmet.
With a proven track record in TV & film, Lost creator JJ Abrams signed up to direct the first of what looks to be a great return for the franchise.
We'll also see the return of original cast-members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher in their career-defining roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
Anthony Daniels as C3PO, Kenny Baker as R2D2 and Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, were also confirmed, with all three having previously had small roles in the Lucas directed prequels.
Newbies to the Star Wars universe include Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domnhall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o and Max Van Sydow.Share:
