The Adam Project hits all the right beats in typical Ryan Reynolds fashion

by Gordon Shelly

The Adam Project is an enjoyable action-time-travel romp that tugs at the heartstrings at all the right moments, mixes laughs, drama, and action and delivers another Netflix big name blockbuster.

Ryan Reynolds certainly knows his niche. While The Adam Project may not be among his best it falls into the category of genuinely entertaining and a fun pre-summer action movie.

The movie has a complex premise, but presents it to audiences in a simplified way to where we’re not asking too many questions nor are we expected to. In fact, it’s better if you don’t. If you’re too inquisitive about the science and plausibility of it all, this may not be a movie for you.

The cast also features Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener and Walker Scobell, all of whom do fine work with the material. Is the material bad? No, but it takes on a very scientific subject and expects us to simply buy-in to the premise without asking questions. If you can do that, and accept The Adam Project for what it is, you’ll probably enjoy the journey.
