With the new Venom movie hitting theaters, a lot of Spider-Man fans have been wondering if Peter Parker would be making a cameo in the movie. It would make sense for it to happen, but Venom director Ruben Fleischer weighed in on that and the answer might surprise you!
Spider-Man has a close connection with Venom, as he brought the symbiote back to Earth. This is when he realized the alien was trying to permanently bond with him and Spider-Man got rid of him. This is when the alien attached himself to Eddie Brock and Venom was born. Because of the close connection between Spider-Man and Venom, you would assume that Peter Parker would be making some kind of appearance in this new movie. However, it sounds like he might not be, as Fleischer said:
This feels very much like Venom's movie. It's the introduction of the character. As to where it will go in future movies, and who he'll run across, I can't say.
While we won't have Spider-Man in the Venom movie, there is still going to be a lot of elements from the character's comic book history, per CinemaBlend. They said Eddie Brock, played of course by Tom Hardy, is an investigative journalist and has a relationship with Ann Weying. The symbiote is also an alien from outer space and Eddie will be clashing with The Life Foundation.
For now, it looks like we'll have to settle for Tom Hardy as Venom and no appearance by Spider-Man. Venom hits theaters on October 5.
