by Gordon Shelly

Brent Gaskins is an actor, an independent filmmaker, and a producer. He recently took some time out of his busy schedule for a conversation with us here at INFLUX Magazine.

INFLUX: What are you currently working on that you can share with us?

BRENT: I have a few projects coming up for acting, five currently — three features, one series, and one short film. I recently finished a short called By Days End 2: The Midnight Butcher, now streaming on our ROKU channel Amethyst on FireTV.

INFLUX: What are your hopes and goals for this project?

BRENT: Our hope is that we get subscribers to watch the film to increase monetization for the film.

INFLUX: What have been your greatest challenges as an indie filmmaker?

BRENT: Finances, in particular, but that landscape has been changing, so not as much as it used to be.

INFLUX: What has been your most significant accomplishment on this filmmaking journey so far?

BRENT: Completing a project and getting it into distribution

INFLUX: Tell us about some of your past projects and where we can watch them if they’re available?

BRENT: By Days End 2: The Midnight Butcher is on www.aoftvroku.com

INFLUX: What goals to you have for yourself moving forward?

BRENT: To create more content where we control the narrative.

INFLUX: What advice would you give to your younger self just starting out?

BRENT: To start sooner and to not allow all the other voices to drown out my own.

INFLUX: Did you have any major personal obstacles during your journey as an independent filmmaker?

BRENT: I was homeless during my journey to where I am today.
