New 'Men In Black' Movie Is Happening And Sooner Than We Thought

A fourth Men in Black movie will be hitting theaters next year, even if Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith are not starring in it. The Men in Black theater will also be hitting theaters soon then fans of the series thought. Get all the Men in Black 4 details below!

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones did return for Men in Black 3 back in 2012, which was 10 years after the previous installment of the film series was released. However, we will not be seeing Agents J and K together for Men in Black 4. So, why aren't they returning for the fourth movie?

Well, it looks like the series is looking for a fresh start. It worked for Jurassic Park, as they brought in new leads for the Jurassic World relaunch. Men in Black is hoping for the same thing, as Men in Black 4 will star brand-new leads.

There are no details on who those leads might be, but Sony Pictures does have the new Men in Black movie scheduled for release in 2019. To add to the excitement, CinemaBlend is reporting that The Fate of the Furious' F. Gary Gray is being eyed as the director.

According to Deadline, F. Gary Gray happens to be the #1 choice to direct the new Men in Black movie and negotiations happen to be underway for him to take over the leadership role. Besides the Fate of the Furious, Gray is also known for A Man Apart, Law Abiding Citizen, The Italian Job and Straight Outta Compton. The Men in Black 4 script was written by Iron Man writers Matt Holloway and Art Marcun.

Fans of Men in Black might be worried about not seeing Smith on Jones in the fourth installment, but never say never. We all know that Jeff Goldblum is bringing back Ian Malcolm for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, even though he was not in Jurassic World. Smith and Jones could see if this fourth installment is successful and then agree to make an appearance in the fifth movie, if it got to that point.

For now, we will all have to wait until June 14, 2019, to see the latest Men in Black movie in theaters. Mark your calendars!
