Second adaptation for Let the Right One In

According to an exclusive report in The Hollywood Reporter, A&E “is teaming with Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis and actor-screenwriter Brandon Boyce to adapt the Swedish vampire story,” Let the Right One In.

“A&E landed the story, about a bullied teen boy who befriends a young female vampire — based on the best-selling Swedish book by John Ajvide Lindqvist that was subsequently adapted into the critically acclaimed 2008 movie directed by Tomas Alfredson — following a bidding war with Showtime.”

Let The Right One In A&E3

This is great news for fans of the BAFTA-nominated Swedish hit movie, especially if they can recreate the show in a similar tone. The 2010 Matt Reeves’ version, Let Me In, was tailored to more suit the tastes of its American audience, and I was among those who enjoyed the Kodi Smit-McPhee/Chloë Grace Moretz starrer just as much as the original.

This is just one more example of a TV show that’s being adapted from a popular movie, with Bates Motel, Hannibal and 12 Monkeys to name only three that are currently airing. This provides showrunners’ with a built-in audience, and that alone is a priceless commodity when it comes to entertainment.
