Electrick Children is director Rebecca Thomas’ debut feature. Starring Julia Garner (MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, WE ARE WHAT WE ARE, SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR) as Rachel a rambunctious teenager living in a strict religious community in Utah. She discovers a forbidden cassette tape with rock music on it and has what appears to be a sexually charged experience. Soon after is pregnant and claims to have had an immaculate conception from listening to the music.
Her father and the communities religious leader, played by Billy Zane – TITANIC) arrange a marriage for her, but she runs off with her brother “Mr. Will,” (Liam Aiken – LEMONY SNICKET’S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS) to Las Vegas, to search for the man who sings on the tape.
Once in Las Vegas they meet Clyde, (Rory Culkin – SCREAM 4), a young misfit who has more in common with Rachel than it first appears.
