Monsters University went back to school teaching the zombie hordes of World War Z and the seemingly invincible Man of Steel 82 million lessons.
That’s right, according to Box Office Mojo, Monsters University scared in an estimated $82 million overpowering its closest competition, World War Z and Man of Steel.
World War Z performed better than expected, pulling in $66 million on 3,600 movies screens (400 fewer than Monsters). Man of Steel continued to perform at a super human rate, pulling in more than $41 million.
This is the End continued its respectable take with $13 million and the magical Now You See Me rounded out the top five with $7.8 million.
