Could we be looking at the next Olympic sport?

“The imaginary game of quidditch and the people who transformed it into a real-life sport.”

I’ve got to be honest here. When I first noticed this trailer for a Quidditch documentary, my first instinct was to shrug it off and put it down to a few Harry Potter fanboys with a borrowed-from-school digital Sony HVR-V1E Pro Camcorder and too much time on their quaffle-grappling, broomstick-holding hands (and that was only after my laughter had subsided enough for me to form a coherent thought). It would appear these “Mudbloods” take their game of Quidditch as serious as a heart attack, and after seeing the players run around with broomsticks stuck between their legs (the Nimbus 2000 if I’m not mistaken) pretending to fly, I’m inclined to believe them.

All joking aside, the players do seem to go all out while chasing after the bludgers and quaffle, judging by the split heads and other injuries sustained while playing. I just hope Professor Gilderoy Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh) isn’t there to help mend broken bones, by turning them into rubber! As far as I can tell, no one is allowed to bring wands or dragons, or even fly for that matter, but I’m sure it’ll still be just as magical as the real thing.
