Los Angeles, CA– Truly Independent Studios and Cinema Epoch are proud to announce the September 17, 2013 DVD release of the award-winning film The Lackey, an action thriller featuring Vernon Wells (The Road Warrior, Commando), Jeremy Dunn (Pirates of the Caribbean, Thor), Guy Grundy (Shutter Island, Two-Time Mr. Australia), Sonny Sison (Act of Valor, Hawaii 5-0) and Rickey Bird Jr. (Mable).
The Lackey is directed by the film’s lead, Shaun Piccinino from Spike TV’s Deadliest Warrior and a senior stunt / motion capture actor for the Call of Duty Franchise. The Lackey gained attention during its film festival run, winning several awards including the Audience Choice Award at the 2012 SoCal Film Fest.
In this shoot-em-up, kick ass action flick, when bottom feeding thug “JUDE ST. CLERE” discovers he has a young, nearly homeless, malnourished daughter by his junkie ex-girlfriend, he vows to take care of her and leave his shadowed past behind. But in order to acquire enough money to provide for his estranged daughter, he reluctantly takes on one last job, which quickly entwines him dead smack in the middle of a bloody Mob war.
