Just when you thought it was safe to take out the hairspray
With more heavyweight star power than you can shake a stick at, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues looks to be more than able to match the first tale of Ron Burgundy, he of the large mustache and hair. Will Ferrell and co, are set to bring joy to the world this December 20th, in time for the Christmas slot, and today (June 19) saw the release of a brand new trailer for the very latest Ferrell vehicle Anchorman 2, it’s about time. I’ve been dying to see what new scenes of my favourite comedy troupe had been added, and in all honesty, I laughed boisterously as Ron told his new boss “I’m gonna do the thing that god put Ron Burgundy on this Earth to do, have salon quality hair and read the news.”
One of the shown gags I particularly liked (and is typically Will) was at a table with his date, he asks “is that your foot between my legs?,” “No” she replies, “Oh, it was my hand.” Of course, Steve Carell is another favourite when comedy is needed, and is once again Brick Tamland who’s still as sharp as a pool ball. The cast in this follow up are incredible when you consider that almost all are major Hollywood stars, but I hope this is in response to the popularity of 2004s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and not to any misgivings over an unfunny script.
We can only hope of seeing a worthy successor to the first, but Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner look like they are still the ones to see. “Say what?!”
