I’ve had the opportunity to listen to a few of the new breed of Western Swing bands and I would have to say that The Lucky Stars are true to form! What amazes me is that they perform original songs that sound as if they were penned in the 40’s and 50’s. For those of us that may have missed Spade Cooley, Bob Wills or Milton Brown in there heyday it’s good to know that there are some youngbloods out there willing to pay some proper respect to this type of music. What is even more impressive is the fact that Sage Gayton’s (singer, rhythm guitar) vocals through out this recording are pure quality, and can easily fool you into thinking that you are listening to one of the original crooners from that bygone era. www.theluckystars.com
